Gmail application has reached 1 Billion download?

Gmail has become one of the required application on Android phone or tablet, and so far the application has been downloaded more than one billion times. This was disclosed by one of Google executive, Sundar Pichai, via his Google+ account. As quoted from The Next Web, Saturday (05/17/2014), in fact, the figure had reached since a few days ago, but Pichai dare disclose it recently.
